Craig Leon Shares 'Anthology Of Interplanetary Folk Music Vol. 2: The Canon'
Legendary Suicide and Talking Heads producer Craig Leon has unveiled the second collection in an exploratory series of electronic works. The follow-up to 2014's compilation Anthology Of Interplanetary Folk Music (which brings together two albums by Leon from the early 80s, Nommos and Visiting), Vol. 2: The Canon again draws inspiration from the astronomical insights of the Dogon, a tribe from Mali, whose ancient calculations have proved to be startlingly accurate to contemporary scientists, and who worship amphibious, extraterrestrial creatures called Nommos from distant star Sirius B. The US-born producer uses these concepts as a launchpad for excursions into sonic speculative fiction, creating a visionary and highly immersive seven track intersection of industrial music, new age, and ambient techno. British-American folk artist Cassell Webb contributes to Anthology Of Interplanetary Folk Music Vol. 2: The Canon and iconic actor John Malkovich is in there too, dive into a stream of the cosmic collection here...
'Anthology Of Interplanetary Folk Music Vol. 2: The Canon' is out now via RVNG Intl.
