Fever Party Drop Debut Collection 'Stay Lost'

Wednesday 15th May, 2019 10:12AM

Tāmaki Makaurau garage rock duo Fever Party are screaming into 2019 with their first ever collection of tunes Stay Lost, a short and totally sweet 3-track EP. The two-person team of Gareth Shute and Jay Purkiss, who've lent their skills to The ConjurorsThe CosbysThe Ruby SunsThe Lurch and Scotland-based The Liberty Bells, recorded the EP with help from Jonathan Bree and Eddie Castelow (Dictaphones Blues, Créme Jéan). The lead single and title track ‘Stay Lost’ was wrapped up in one night at the studio, a song that Shute says “is about not wanting to face up to reality, whether that relates to one's personal life or bigger issues (like climate change)”, and ‘Get Some’ is a fuzzy ode to the internet, with the dubious message of encouraging people to spend as much time as they can on social media. We've been assured a new video from the duo is on the way too, get lost and stay lost in the latest release from Fever Party…
