Moana Maniapoto's trailblazing work with her earlier group Moana and the Moahunters was deservedly recognised at 2019's Taite Music Prize ceremony in April, where her innovative and inspirational 1993 album TAHI was presented the Classic Record award. Maniapoto has now unveiled the latest release from her current project Moana & The Tribe with '', the lead single from the artist's upcoming sixth album ONO, produced by Paddy Free (Pitch Black). Named after a "karakia or incantation performed as part of a ritual ceremony of tohi", 'Tū' is sung mainly in te reo Māori and features Canadian vocalist Jani Lauzon, with tense electronic grooves underpinning Maniapoto's exploration of the relationship between the ocean and the power of the people. Maniapoto and Free are currently travelling throughout Aotearoa with bandmates Cadzow Cossar and Trina Maniapoto, touring their My Name is Moana project in May – open your ears to a stream of 'Tū' here...

'Tū' is out now via iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify.
