Michael James Keane North Island Shows Announced
Pōneke "canyon folk" songwriter Michael James Keane (of So Laid Back Country China) unveiled his darkly intimate debut solo album The Cascade last December to rapturous acclaim. Keane has now delighted North Island fans of his mournful and intense songs with the announcement of a long-awaited Auckland headline event with full band this June, along with a pair of stripped back events happening at Hamilton's Nivara Lounge and a yet to be revealed venue in Palmerston North. Keane will be joined in Auckland and Hamilton by another master of emotionally powerful lyricism i.e. crazy, aka the industrial-folk project of Claire Duncan / Maggie Magee – mark these dates below in your diary...

Press release:
In December of 2018, Michael James Keane released The Cascade, his debut solo album. Following this he has performed a series of shows around Wellington including appearances at the Wellington Performance Arcade and Slow Note Festivals, supports for Steve Gunn and Jack Ladder, and a full band performance of the album on Valentines day.
With great pleasure we are pleased to announce that he will be bringing his full band to Auckland’s Wine Cellar on Sunday the 30th of June.
Keane’s music is nothing short of evocative. Undertheradar.co.nz states, "Keane's rich and mournful voice sits front and centre in the mix, emphasising the dark intimacy of his emotionally intense lyrics, set against instrumentation ranging from delicately subdued to powerfully dramatic."
Proceeding the Auckland event Michael will perform 2 intimate shows with a more stripped back lineup.
Support for the Auckland and Hamilton shows will come from i.e. crazy, the industrial-folk project of Claire Duncan/Maggie Magee (Dear Time's Waste).
