Aotearoa's favourite tropical-industrial songsmith Ron Gallipoli has returned in haunted ballad mode, with his keys-driven latest number 'Jamboree', a "true story from the depths of the pit". Gallipoli is in absolutely beautiful voice as he croons such ghoulish lines such as "somewhere out there / there's a venereal disease with your name on it," against a subtly discombobulating sonic backdrop – calling to mind a fang-baring, cast out imaginary ex-member of Split Enz.
