Unchained XL Drops 64 Bars On '2 To The 6'

Thursday 20th June, 2019 11:08AM

Tamaki Mākaurau’s UK born, Nigerian rapper and producer Unchained XL has dropped wicked track '2 To The 6', sharing a monochromatic lyric video with message "Lemme do this real quick for Afrokiwis. Build that legacy and wait for no one". The latest cut is three minutes of non-stop, high energy rap, as he rolls out 64 politically-charged bars on racism and identity in Aotearoa. Shot in Auckland's Black Orange Studios, videographer and musician Geoff Ong pans around the mic as Unchained XL spits lines like "I just wanna pay 'em back without begging for pennies from people who paint they faces black, asking 'where the racists at?'" and "When they ask me where I’m from, they spinnin' my head. Always takes a couple goes, like tryna spell rhythm correct". Peep the clip for '2 To The 6' below, or head along to Auckland’s Anthology next Thursday 27th June to see Unchained XL in the flesh…

Unchained XL’s latest EP 'The Migrant Mind' is out now.
