Belle And Sebastian Announce Album 'Days Of The Bagnold Summer' + Share Single
Scottish indie figureheads Belle and Sebastian have created an original soundtrack album for feature film Days of the Bagnold Summer, the directorial debut of Simon Bird (The Inbetweeners, Friday Night Dinner), originally based on Joff Winterhart's award-winning graphic novel of the same name depicting "a tale of single parenting and heavy metal". While we'd be surprised if the latter manifested in Belle and Sebastian's score, the soundtrack's sparkling lead single and video details the hopes and dreams of a women searching for more than everyday drudgery, and reportedly features throughout the forthcoming coming-of-age film about a teen who has to spend all summer with his mum (and vice versa). Days of the Bagnold Summer will showcase eleven new songs from Belle and Sebastian along with re-recorded versions of late nineties tunes 'Get Me Away From Here I'm Dying' and ‘I Know Where The Summer Goes’. Crossed fingers the upcoming movie isn't as emotionally harrowing as previous works the group has soundtracked, take in the band's uplifting new song here...
'Days of the Bagnold Summer' is out on Friday 13th September via Matador Records / Rhythmethod.
