Monday 15th July, 2019 10:39AM

A bevy of new speakers have been announced for this year's Going Global Music Summit, happening once again at Tāmaki Makaurau's Roundhead Studios over two days in late August. An awesome opportunity to experience first-hand ideas and insights and from key movers and shakers at the forefront of the international music industry, the boutique music conference's freshly revealed speakers include Brid Walpole (US campaigns for Liam and Neil Finn and Tiny Ruins), Natasha Parish of US booking agency Ground Control Touring (Angel Olsen, Big Thief, Kurt Vile, Wavves), Shannon Kurlander (Terrorbird Media) on how to attract US media attention and radio play, and Adam Lewis of Planetary Group (The Decemberists, Courtney Barnett, Portugal, The Man) on North American radio and blog exposure, while Francisca Sandoval of Independent Music Association of Chile and Carla Arias (also of IMICHILE) will talk about the potential of the South American music market. They'll be joining previously announced guests, keynote speaker Paul Brindley (co-founder and CEO of Music Ally), Bekah Zietz Flynn (Publicity, International Promotions and A&R for Sub Pop Records), Jon Halperin (Talent Buyer for The Glass House), Kiran Patel (Head of Sync, A&G Sync) and Captured Tracks Founder / CEO Mike Sniper.

The Going Global Music Summit will conclude in style with the annual Going Global Presents showcase event, highlighting a wealth of yet to be announced rising stars from throughout Aotearoa over three stages – with 2018's bill providing a springboard for such incandescent talents as The Beths, Soaked Oats, Unchained XL, Jed Parsons and Arthur Ahbez. The two day summit and showcase take place over the same weekend at K Road's mammoth The Others Way multi-venue extravaganza, so there'll be a tonne of great music-related events to keep Auckland punters engaged in late August. Both the summit and showcase are traditionally sell out affairs, we strongly suggest you get in quick...
