Christchurch punks Zhukov are back with their sophomore release EP II. Short, sweet, and ruckus, the five song EP clocks in at just over seven minutes and is stuffed with infectious and frenetic calls to destroy bourgeois society. When they say their songs are inspired by dialectical and historical materialism, they’re not just being cute. Sometimes the praxis was the bricks we threw along the way. Recorded at Christchurch’s Dogshit Factory, engineer Brian Feary infuses the recording with his characteristic raw scuzz (get a load of the toms that kick off 'Burn It Down' for some artfully crafted roughness).
