Pixies Unveil Single 'Catfish Kate' + Video
US alt-rock pioneers Pixies revealed on Monday they'll be journeying to our fair shores in early 2020, to play a hit-rammed headline set at Tāmaki Makaurau's Spark Arena – performing both their seminal 1987 EP Come On Pilgrim and classic 1988 debut album Surfer Rosa in full, plus a selection of faves and new material too. If that wasn't enough Pixies excitement for ya, the team of Black Francis, Joey Santiago, David Lovering and recent addition Paz Lenchantin (subbing in for Kim Deal) have now dropped 'Catfish Kate', the scrappy latest tune from their forthcoming eighth studio album Beneath The Eyrie, releasing this September. Black Francis rattles off his warped tale of rural misadventure over Pixies' instantly recognisable signature fuzzy hook action, complemented by a stylised and impressionistic animated video created by Neirin Best and Lianne Pierce you can enjoy below...
