Hans Pucket Announce Nationwide Spring Tour

C.C. / Thursday 15th August, 2019 9:56AM

To celebrate the beginning of spring, Hans Pucket are ushering in a bold new era of fertility and sunshine with the announcement of an extensive nationwide tour, spanning the length and breadth of Aotearoa. Grizzled tour veterans after a sold-out recent run of support shows for The Beths in UK and Europe, audiences can look forward to a sonically diverse yet impressively catchy selection of tunes from the Tāmaki Makaurau / Pōneke group's critically lauded 2018 debut album Eczema, with tantalising hints of new material to be rolled out too. Fronted by identical twins Oli and Callum Devlin with drummer Jono Nott (Onono), Hans Pucket promise to bring you a "Really Nice Time" in October, and have unveiled a special colouring-in competition to get you even more hyped – scroll down to peep the details below.

Singer and guitarist Oli Devlin enthused: “The three of us are split between Wellington and Auckland, so when there’s a chance to play live together the band gets to share a beautiful reunion and moment of camaraderie with the crowd”.

Press release:

To celebrate the first flowers of Spring, Hans Pucket have decided to get out of the house and go on their most extensive tour of New Zealand to date.

It’s a welcome return for longtime fans of the band, or just those wondering what all the fuss is about. Hans Pucket’s live show argues their case with famous spectacularity and a symmetrical stage picture of identical twins with a handsome drummer in the middle.

Blending eclectic musical tastes of 70s disco, early 2000s indie rock, and mid-century musical theatre, Hans Pucket makes songs that are both personal and communal. Headphone music you can party to.

Halfway to finishing the followup to their brilliant 2018 debut album Eczema, they’ll bring new songs with new pop twists on heartbreak, anxiety and the stresses of modern life.

Earlier this year the band proved their chops on the international stage for the first time, playing both solo shows and supporting The Beths across UK and Europe. They’re eager to tour NZ, see their friends again, and have a Really Nice Time.

De-frost yourself and get on down to a venue near you for a Hans Pucket show this October.

Lead vocalist and guitarist Oli Devlin says “The three of us are split between Wellington and Auckland, so when there’s a chance to play live together the band gets to share a beautiful reunion and moment of camaraderie with the crowd”.
