Aotearoa DIY electronics figurehead Kraus has lifted the lid on his sixteenth album Pudding Island, the artist's first since 2017's Grip The Moon, featuring ten tunes guaranteed to warp both listeners' minds and the fabric of reality itself. As the title implies, multiple tracks gesture towards thematic territory explored on his 2009 anthem 'Ode To A Delicious Pudding' (from Golden Treasury), but that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the kaleidoscopic output on display throughout Pudding Island. 'Hairs On The Sun', 'The Apples Were Eaten by the Horse' and 'No Longer a Maggot, Not Yet a Fly' deliver gorgeously spacey and immersive synth-scapes, 'No Food in the House' documents The Futurians member in swaggering rock god mode, the meditative 'Flamingos In Snow' captures quiet moments made tangible, and the tumbling sonics of 'Being in Love Desperately with Mrs ___' belong in a genre category of their very own. Pudding Island is, as they say, a "must cop" – grip a digital edition direct from the artist's Bandcamp page here and open your ears to a stream of the collection below...

Kraus is performing at multiple events in Melbourne and Sydney this month, head over to his website here for the full lowdown.
