Experience Bulk Bogan's Smashing Video For ‘Can’t Switch Off’

Thursday 29th August, 2019 1:51PM

Tāmaki Makaurau power-violence / fastcore duo Bulk Bogan have shared a warp-speed video for their track ‘Can’t Switch Off’, from 2018's debut collection Flex. The clip was shot by Saskia Lindstrom at Seoul Rage Room in Hongdae, Korea where revellers purchase disused appliances and furniture and are given a room and a baseball bat to destroy items therein. Editing duties were fielded by Alex Ross Smith, aka Auckland-based musical detective Undercover Alex. Guitarist / vocalist Fluffy (who full disclosure, is the editorial assistant for this very website) shared their thoughts on the clip’s creation:

"Upon learning of the existence of Seoul’s Rage Room, I knew that cathartic (but controlled) property damage was a definite parallel to the locomotive blast beats of Bulk Bogan. Several thousand ₩, a heavy sweat and an editing session from our good pal Undercover Alex and we had the visual poetry which is the clip for ‘Can’t Switch Off’."

Trigger warning: this video may potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy, viewer discretion is advised...

You can catch Bulk Bogan this Saturday 31st of August at The Thirsty Dog as part of Big’N’Loud with Jang, GG, Black Sands and more.
