Cigarettes After Sex Unveil Single 'Heavenly' + Announce Album 'Cry'

A.K. / Thursday 29th August, 2019 11:03AM

US melancholy pop outfit Cigarettes After Sex return with the lush first single from their sophomore album Cry. The instrumentation to 'Heavenly' and the rest of the collection was recorded in Mallorca, Spain in the same week that their hugely popular self-titled debut album was released, but it was another two years before front person and guitarist Greg Gonzalez found words to the music. The first single from Cry is appropriately named, with angelic vocals and a vibe that sits somewhere between Shania Twain and the Twin Peaks soundtrack (Twain Peaks). Gonzalez says he considers the album a visual record, intrinsically connected to the island in Spain it was first recorded: "It was shot in this stunning, exotic location, and it stitches all these different characters and scenes together, but in the end is really about romance, beauty & sexuality. It’s a very personal telling of what those things mean to me". Take an aural trip to Mallorca in the latest from Cigarettes After Sex…

Cry tracklist:

Don’t Let Me Go
Kiss It Off Me
You’re the Only Good Thing in My Life
Falling In Love

The sophomore album from Cigarettes After Sex, 'Cry' is out Friday 25th October via Partisan Records.
