Angel Olsen Shares New Album 'All Mirrors'
US alt-pop powerhouse Angel Olsen has returned with her fourth studio album All Mirrors. A sharp left turn from 2016's My Woman and its unforgettable anthem 'Shut Up Kiss Me', All Mirrors dresses Olsen’s powerful and poetic songs in lurching strings and icy synths. Where are the guitars? Well those are coming, apparently. There will be a companion collection of the same songs recorded in a more straight-ahead style. But, what we have for now is an album that is beautiful, weird, overwhelming, and deeply felt. Listening to All Mirrors, you feel like you’re just about to grasp what the reference is, what it reminds you of. Scott Walker? Dusty in Memphis? Ultravox? But every time, Olsen twists away from the usual touchstones, and you’re left feeling like All Mirrors is an evocation of a moment in music that never really happened.
'All Mirrors' is out now via Jagjaguwar.
