C.C. / Thursday 17th October, 2019 10:33AM

Tāmaki Makaurau's Bleeders are back with their first new music in 12 years and a three date tour ready to pummel the eardums of fans across Aotearoa in November. The Tui award winning hardcore punk crew got their start all the way back in 2002, delivering such anthems as 'All That Glitters', 'Out Of Time' and 'She Screamed She Loved Me' over two albums and a fistful of single and EP releases. 'Darkness Falls', the first song unleashed from their forthcoming Delusions EP proves the Bleeders are as uncompromising and aggressive as ever – their five track collection drops on 22nd November, with the limited edition vinyl LP's B-side including a remastered version of 2003's breakthrough A Bleeding Heart EP as a much-appreciated bonus. Press release:

It’s been 12 long years since Auckland Punk, Hardcore, Rock N Roll outfit Bleeders have graced us with new music.

The wait is now over with Bleeders announcing a new release & tour dates in support of the forthcoming 5 track EP Delusions.

Delusions will be available digitally and limited edition hand numbered 12inch Vinyl. The B-Side includes re-mastered 2003 Breakout release A Bleeding Heart E.P available in both red and black vinyl limited to 100 of each.

The first offering 'Darkness Falls' is streaming now at your preferred digital platform.

We are extremely excited to be back playing again this year and to top it off we have a new record to play to the fans says Bleeders front man Angelo Munro.

Formed in 2002 it didn’t take long for Auckland based Bleeders to take off, in their debut year they released the legendary hard-core punk classic A Bleeding Heart E.P. This followed by constant sold out shows all over the country, in 2004 the band was rewarded for their hard work and ever-growing success by signing a major record deal with Universal Music NZ.

2006 was a huge year for the Bleeders. Their debut album, Sweet As Sin, reached #2 in the charts, garnered them Best Break Through Artist and Best Rock Album at the 2006 New Zealand Music Awards and went on to sell Gold certification status. The band toured like maniacs in New Zealand and headed across the Tasman no less than five times at the invitation of everyone from Avenged Sevenfold and AFI... to Aussie band Gyroscope plus shows alongside American horror punk legends the Misfits in the U.K.

The self-titled follow up to Sweet As Sin rejected any notion of resting on their laurels, produced by Clint Murphy and the band at Auckland’s York Street Studios and mastered by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound in New York, Bleeders was a return to the brutal vitality that first brought them to people’s attention.

As Real Groove magazine once said of them, they “lack the sense of exclusivity that confines so many bands to their cliquey pigeon holes... If you buy a Bleeders album or go to a show, you’re in the gang, no further questions.”
