The National's Matt Berninger + Phoebe Bridgers Drop Video 'Walking On A String'

Rising Los Angeles-based songwriter Phoebe Bridgers was recently announced as support for Ohio indie rock kingpins The National's upcoming New Zealand headline events, happening in the intimate surrounds of Tāmaki Makaurau's ASB Theatre over two nights in April 2020. That tantalising team-up was previewed via Bridgers and The National frontman Matt Berninger's appearance in Zach Galifianakis' Netflix film Between Two Ferns: The Movie, which toned down the zany antics for a moment with the pair's emotive performance of new song 'Walking on a String', written especially for the feature length flick. That duet has now been released, accompanied by a black and white clip directed by Tom Berninger and Chris Sgroi showcasing Berninger and Bridgers laying down their stirring tune in the studio, featuring a number of familiar faces including Galifianakis himself...
