Queens Of The Stone Age helmsman Josh Homme's long running collaborative project Desert Sessions is back after sixteen years (!) with two new ear-frying collections, bundled together as the eight track Vols. 11 & 12, respectively subtitled Arrivederci Despair and Tightwads & Nitwits & Critics & Heels. The staggering lineup of superstars invited to lend their talents includes Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint), Libby Grace, Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters), Mike Kerr (Royal Blood), Les Claypool (Primus) and Matt Sweeney (Chavez), with British comedian and actor Matt Berry (What We Do In The Shadows, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace) throwing his creative hat in the ring for the playfully catchy 'Chic Tweetz'. Following tradition, there's considerably diverse sonic territory to be traversed on Vols. 11 & 12, from the bong-hitting riff-boogie of 'Noses In Roses, Forever' to the Morricone-esque psychedelic panorama of 'Far East For The Trees' to the cranking garage-punk action of 'Crucifire' – open your ears to the latest sounds from Desert Sessions here...
