Racing + Mini Simmons Summer Tour Announced

Tāmaki Makaurau's Racing are bringing the party to a stage near you with their upcoming summer tour of Aotearoa, joined for a hefty chunk of dates by rising rock n rollers Mini Simmons. Featuring former members of The Checks – singer Ed Knowles and guitarist Sven Pettersen, with bassist Daniel Barrett (Sherpa) and drummer Izaak Houston (Space Creeps) – Racing are currently finalists for Best Rock Artist | Te Kaipuoro Rakapioi Toa at the 2019 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards, to be presented this Thursday 14 November at Spark Arena. No slouches in the riff wrangling department themselves, Mini Simmons were the first local group to have an actual vinyl record pressed in Aotearoa in over 32 years (via Holiday Records), and recently covered Benee's 'Soaked' at the Nathan Haines-curated 2019 Silver Scrolls Awards. Along with a bevy of headline events, Racing will perform at the New Plymouth Festival of Lights NYE show, and are playing at the Coromandel's Eggfest with Fleetmac Wood, Marlin's Dreaming and Glass Vaults. They're currently hard at work on the follow up to their breakthrough 2018 debut album Real Dancing, catch Racing at the dates below...
