Pōneke / Tāmaki Makaurau duo Moody.V and the Menstrual Cycle (aka Madison van Staden and Marika Pratley) have shared a shoegazey, sex positive tune titled ‘Mellow Masturbation’. Lifted from a forthcoming EP of the same name, the new song is the duo’s first new material since 2018’s Holidayfor2 EP and is a dreamy ode to female self-love, constructed on a bed of ambient electronica and augmented by Pratley’s tremulous violin work. "I wrote this song for my friends who felt uncomfortable masturbating, or talking about it. I wanted to normalize female masturbation, to share my own experiences."
