Air Max '97 Returning To New Zealand In January

C.C. / Tuesday 10th December, 2019 9:02AM

Air Max '97 aka Oliver van der Lugt is returning to our shores this summer, to bring the party to the latest crucial club event facilitated by Tāmaki Makaurau's Community Garden. The Netherlands-born, Aotearoa-raised and London-based producer / DJ has established himself on a global scale since relocating overseas earlier this decade – releasing a visionary array of future-gazing cuts and mutated tracks via bleeding edge imprints Timedance, Liminal Sounds and his own DECISIONS label, and dishing up mixes for such taste-making outlets as Truants, DJ Mag and Rinse FM. Don't you dare miss Air Max '97 with local support from K2K and Clay Louis in mid-January...

Press release:

Community Garden is proud to announce the return of Netherlands born, Aotearoa raised and London-based Air Max '97 to our lil island, January 10th 2020.

Air Max '97 carries a dynamic range of ever-changing sound in his work; sliding from sound design sensibilities to flat out soundsystem culture rundowns. This distinctive/idiosyncratic touch can be heard across his multiple releases; on Timedance, Liminal Sounds and his own DECISIONS label, with each release spreading his deft collage further into new fields. These, plus his abundance of impeccable club edits and mixes for Truants, DJ Mag and Rinse FM have placed him at the forefront of contemporary club music.

Air Max '97 will be joined by Tāmaki Makaurau's very own K2K and Clay Louis
