Listen To LEAO's 'GHOST ROADS' EP
Aotearoa's Noa Records are fast establishing themselves as an independent label to keep your eye on, with significant drops this year from Schofield Strangelove and the scene-documenting 151 K RD: IMPROV compilation (plus more good stuff to come). The imprint's latest release showcases the evocative work of Tāmaki Makaurau's LEAO – the project of David Feauai-Afaese aka Dave Urso – on the five track GHOST ROADS, the artist's first collection "written from a fa'asamoa core, providing feelings and messages embodied both in language and spirit." LEAO opens up hauntological pathways, combining South Pacific tradition with post-punk / hypnagogic pop techniques to conjure a hugely compelling, enjoyable and sonically distinct ocean of sound. Easily a highlight from an exceptional year in local music, we encourage you to open your ears to LEAO's GHOST ROADS...
'GHOST ROADS' is out now digitally via Noa Records.
