Roy Irwin Unveils Singles 'No Question' & 'Goodbye Youth' + Video
Tāmaki Makaurau's Roy Irwin is back with two new slices of guitar-pop genius, the woozily emotive 'No Question' and mid-tempo summer reflection 'Goodbye Youth'. The former tune comes accompanied by a vividly coloured, single-shot cinematic clip filmed and edited by Greg Burrows, depicting the artist awash in a neon lit watery dreamscape, with lyrics to sing along to featured in both English and Japanese.
"'No Question' is a song about becoming apathetic towards somebody in a friendship or relationship. It’s about allowing second chances but not thirds. I was pretty sad and confused about something that I experienced in the last year when I wrote it.
The video was filmed and edited by my friend Greg Burrows (@d00m95) at his childhood home out West Auckland in a broken down spa pool. The water was freezing cold and it sucked but I love how it turned out and I think Greg did a great job.
Anri Yaszuto from Watusi Zombie helped translate my lyrics to Japanese for the subtitles."
