Shopping Drop Single 'For Your Pleasure' + Video

C.C. / Wednesday 29th January, 2020 10:42AM

Current student radio faves with their zippy and angular tune 'Initiative', British post-punks Shopping have a dropped timely track in the form of 'For Your Pleasure'. Drawn from upcoming fourth studio album All Or Nothing, Shopping's new song delivers an over-caffeinated, hyper-catchy meltdown of punchy grooves, sci-fi synths, and hook-packed yet philosophical wordplay. Director Lessa Millet sets the highly danceable 'For Your Pleasure' in an inclusive queer club context for the accompanying video – Shopping opened up around the ideas orbiting their nervy latest single...

“‘For Your Pleasure’ is a song about frustration, the feeling of always wanting more, needing material things to distract or gratify us... It’s about consumerism but also searching for meaning in life. That feeling of longing that never really goes away even when you have the things, the job, the status, or the person you thought you wanted. I think people who create music or art know what that feels like particularly.”

'All Or Nothing' releases on Friday 7th February via FatCat Records.
