Out Of My Province feels like a long overdue and scary conversation with a loved one and oneself. Ōtepoti folk artist Nadia Reid asks a lot of tough questions on her latest record, laying all her hard truths and dreams on the table, looking for answers. Said of single 'Oh Canada', "It was me working out what I was waiting for and what I wanted from life at that point in time," it seems that theme runs through every song; having to make big decisions for the future and using the past to educate those choices. While metaphorically out of Reid's province in relation to stepping out of her comfort zone, in a more literal sense it touches on the hardships of touring and likely the experience of recording an album away from home for the first time.
