A game show, a city and now a Yumi Zouma album, Truth Or Consequences is another example of the group's mastery of the chillwave drop and Christie Simpson's mumbled lyrics ripe for projecting your own feelings onto. As intimidating a title Truth Or Consequences is, the songs found on their third full length record may have big emotions behind them but every single track is a stone cold pop-bop, even with something close to a club beat in 'Sage' and straight up funk on 'Magazine Bay'. The four-piece was first set in motion in their hometown of Ōtautahi, but as of 2020 the members are now split between London, New York and Pōneke, so it makes sense that Truth Or Consequences features a few local place names; 'Southwark' is the street the band recorded a lot of music on, and 'Magazine Bay' can be found a few minutes West of Lyttelton.
