UTR Update: NZ Music Community COVID-19 Resources

The coronavirus pandemic (and all that comes with it) is affecting everyone in some way or another, and among those most affected by the financial repercussions are musicians. Events of 100+ people are being postponed or cancelled, overseas tours have to be called off, and even the retail and hospitality side hustles many artists rely on are facing uncertain returns. With those bleak facts out of the way, below is a compilation of handy resources for both musicians and music lovers covering financial support, wellbeing guides, hand washing tutorials, and more essential content – we will be adding to this list as new resources roll in...

New Zealand music businesses, contractors and sole traders may qualify for a Wage Subsidy here.

MusicHelps have provided COVID-19 Information and Support for Kiwi Music People here. They offer a 24/7 Wellbeing Service – an online, on the phone (tollfree 0508MUSICHELP) and in-person counselling service provided free of charge to those that make live or recorded music possible in Aotearoa. NZ Music Commission are calling for all landlords of music venues to give urgent rent relief to their live music tenants here.
