Nine Inch Nails Unveil Instrumental Albums 'Ghosts V & VI'
It seems fitting that Trent Reznor's long running industrial project Nine Inch Nails would re-emerge in the midst of our current lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak – the global situation is certainly fuel for dark introspective fantasies. What's become apparent while working from home is long-form instrumental music makes for a great backdrop to getting the daily tasks done – Reznor and Atticus Ross' latest double album drop, Ghosts V: Together and Ghosts VI: Locusts, fit the bill to a tee. A joint sequel to NIN's 2008 four CD “soundtrack for daydreams” Ghosts I–IV (fun fact: it was sampled for Lil Nas X's 'Old Town Road'), Ghosts V and VI deliver twenty three immersive tracks, traversing feelings of blissful contemplation and tense unease, with titles such as 'A Really Bad Night', 'So Tired' and 'Letting Go While Holding On' serving as prompts to explore the primarily minimal compositions on offer. Out today for free (downloadable via the NIN site here), dive into streams of Ghosts V: Together and Ghosts VI: Locusts below...
