The long-running brainchild of Jakob bassist Maurice Beckett with drummer Tom Pierard and keyboardist Nick Blow, Clive-based sonic travellers Desbot make a welcome return with with 'In Waves', the epic lead single from their debut studio EP Occult Tapes. The mesmerising track slowly builds into a sonic force of nature, layering swirling guitars, pounding percussion and even hazy distant vocals before receding back into the mist. Beckett's other group Jacob were also active on the release front over the weekend, sharing a gorgeous demo recording of 'some summer' which we've covered here.
