Ōtautahi pop songwriter Laura Lee Lovely asks the question: what would a synthwave Wizard Of Oz soundtrack sound like? And the answer is 'Beyond The Rain'. About two weeks BC ('Before Covid-19') the electronic dance creator teased on social media that she was going to record some "LLL style" covers, and the first offering is a pop-synth reimagining of 'Over The Rainbow'. Think Judy Garland in neon pink flatforms and shutter shades, hypnotising a packed club at 3am with this rendition of her iconic bittersweet Dorothy ballad, a cover sparked by "the delirium of isolation". With the power of file sharing, and a production team of Jamie Stratton, Ben Hunt (Jaga) and Peter Greenlees (DJ Rugged Shark), Laura Lee Lovely's dreams really did come true...
