It's hard to believe it's been just over a year and a half since Tāmaki Makaurau's The Beths conquered the planet with their insta-classic 2018 debut album Future Me Hates Me. Following on from yesterday's livestreaming antics, the award-winning gang of Elizabeth Stokes, Jonathan Pearce, Ben Sinclair and drummer Tristan Deck today unveil 'Dying To Believe', their first original single since that record dropped (not counting their heartbreaking Christmas cover of 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas'). Released along with a snappy video created by hard-working locals Sports Team, in collaboration with NZ On Air, the zippy tune is the first taste of The Beths' just-announced sophomore album Jump Rope Gazers, releasing in July via Carpark Records.

The handy "How To" clip for 'Dying To Believe' makes being in The Beths (or any band) look like a piece of cake, but Elizabeth Stokes' lyrics tell a different story – flipping personal anxieties inside out as the band lob an endless volley of catchy hooks at listeners, like they're using up the world's supply all at once. You'll be humming along this one for the next few months at least, experience 'Dying To Believe' here and scroll downwards for footage from Wednesday's livestream event...
