Weekend NZ Livestream Events Guide
For the first time in UTR lockdown history, there are more livestream music events scheduled for this weekend than we have space to mention in the round up! Aotearoa DJs and musicians are going above and beyond for this ANZAC holiday, with more live streams in the next three days that you can poke a stick at.
Following his stand out set during Melted Ice Cream's Better Living, Everyone fest last weekend, which featured sage burning and a children's story book reading, Delaney Davidson flies solo from his living room tomorrow night – tickets available via UTR over here.
Today from 3.00pm, Don Mcglashan plays a special fundraiser set in support of MusicHelps. After a bit of mood-setting sounds and aperitifs this evening, shift your sights (and sites) to Creative Sounds' second live-streamed event with $hannengeorgiapetersen, Tākaro Techno Club and Tū.
On Saturday, ThreeNow will be streaming a ginormous line-up of Aotearoa and Australian acts for Music From The Home Front, featuring Dave Dobbyn, Marlon Williams, Courtney Barnett, Kevin Parker (Tame Impala), The Wiggles, Jimmy Barnes and about half a dozen other household names. If a bit of variety is what you're craving of a Saturday eve, Qtopia is hosting "the coolest cabaret this side of the rāhui", with comedy, drag, and a set from Pōneke future-pop artist Hybrid Rose.
Come Sunday, the cherry on top is a cruisy, late morning performance from Tāmaki Makaurau guitar heroes The Beths, along with Chicago group Ratboys for one of many sick lineups in the World Cafe & Royal Mountain Records World Tour series. If none of the above cut the mustard, scroll down to the bottom of the page for a full run down of this weekend's online gig guide.
