Nick Cave Covers T. Rex's 'Cosmic Dancer' + Video
If Nick Cave's latest album Ghosteen suggests the iconic Australian songwriter is moving through a maudlin phase of his storied career, then his stark, piano-driven take on T. Rex's 'Cosmic Dancer' provides more fuel for the sentimental fire. Cave's balladic rendition of Marc Bolan's sprightly 1971 tune features on the forthcoming compilation AngelHeaded Hipster: The Songs of Marc Bolan and T.Rex releasing in September, including contributions from such international heavy hitters as U2, Elton John, Joan Jett, Peaches, King Khan, Perry Farrell, Marc Almond and Todd Rundgren amongst its twenty six tracks, produced by the late Hal Willner. 'AngelHeaded Hipster: The Songs of Marc Bolan and T.Rex' releases on Friday 4th September via BMG.
