Remember going out and doing stuff? Me neither. Luckily there's streaming shows aplenty for the first night of NZ Music Month, if none of these take your fancy we encourage you to while away the hours browsing the local sounds and dope merch available on Bandcamp, who are waiving all revenue on sales from 7.00pm Friday until 7.00pm Saturday 2nd May (NZT).
Aotearoa events to experience on your digital devices tonight include: Christchurch's Darkroom have organised the Darkroom Social Distancing Special twenty four artist mega-fest from 6.00pm, including such local legends as Instant Fantasy, Liam K. Swiggs and Keanu Raves, to coincide with the launch of the venue's fundraising efforts [donate here], the first E NOHO - NZ Music Month event is happening from 8.00pm, curated by Ed Waaka and featuring Alayna and Khailana, Pōneke metal titans Bulletbelt will host an exclusive preview screening of Bulletbelt: Prevail and Conquer - The Making Of Warlords from 8.30pm, and Palmerston North's Creative Sounds - The Stomach are presenting their third livestream show featuring Museum Stork (solo) & This Plain (Harry from First Move playing solo) from 9.00pm.
The Darkroom Social Distancing Special continues on Saturday from 6.00pm with an all killer lineup, while Taite Prize nominated Auckland rapper JessB will be storming the international stage for NTS Radio's Remote Utopias 24hr radio festival, also featuring such global heavy hitters as Tame Impala, Four Tet, Erykah Badu, Yves Tumor, Weyes Blood and Sunn O))) (!), while on Sunday from 10.00am to 4.00pm the Nook & Cranny Virtual Online Music Festival features a stacked bill of stars from the South Island, scope out the details right here.
