Weekend NZ Live Gigs + Streaming Events Guide
"The times, they are a-changin" sung some guy with an acoustic guitar once a long time ago and he wasn't wrong, especially in relation to this weekend's UTR events guide. We're psyched that real life gigs are at long last happening again in their formative post-lockdown phase, while livestream events are still charging as hard as ever. Here's our best of both worlds rundown of musical events taking place in venues AND on digital devices across Aotearoa this weekend...
Bad luck if you missed out on nabbing tickets to tonight's Reb Fountain and Dave Khan live show at The Wine Cellar, if you move fast you might still be able to scoop up tickets for the mighty pairing of Sulfate and Jazmine Mary at the same venue on Saturday – we advise you not to sleep on this historic show. Christchurch residents also have the chance to get amongst it at an actual gig on Saturday, at surf-punks The Wendys' double session extravaganza at darkroom – again capacity is strictly limited so don't dilly dally, capiche?
On the digital side of the tracks, tonight's livestreams shows to check out include the third episode of Melted Ice Cream / Space Academy's Better Living TV, showcasing a titanic lineup including Ripship, Jazmine Mary, Giantess, Luke Buda and Hamish Kilgour from 7pm! Check out the timetable and links here.
Saturday 23rd May brings the the 2020 Official NZ Music Month Summit from 10am to 4pm – explore the full schedule and panel topics right here.
Aotearoa collective Low Strung present a livestream fundraiser showcasing a selection of our rising stars on Sunday 24th May – including Soaked Oats, Dateline and Hans Pucket – for tickets to view the stream plus more info head along here.
