Bringing together elements of Chicago house, vintage space disco and even Sonic The Hedgehog, Tāmaki Makaurau electronic artist Baby Zionov, the musical alias of Aaliyah Zionov, gives us new single 'Clubbing In The Time Of Cholera'. Described by the singer / producer on 95bFM yesterday as "a song about getting ready to go to a party" and sub-titled 'A Musical Tribute to a Bygone Era in Which People Sometimes Had Parties to Go To, Although Sometimes They Didn't', the spine-tingling track is a first taste of her forthcoming debut EP ...And You Are The Bitch, dropping in late June via rising Aotearoa imprint Sunreturn, who've also recently released tunes by Amamelia, Green Grove and Dateline. 'Clubbing In The Time Of Cholera' perfectly captures and possibly even amplifies the excitement of prepping for a night on the dance floor, where sometimes the warmup is equally as fun as the main event.

Sporting killer artwork by Benny Matthews (Worn Out, Caveman Noise), we have no doubt Baby Zionov's EP will encourage club-goers to ponder the politics of dancing while succumbing to the rhythm of the night. You can catch Baby Zionov celebrating her new single's release online this Saturday, at a special Zoom party featuring Amamelia, Girl_irl (USA), Princess Richard, Shallows and Totems. Listen up to 'Clubbing In The Time Of Cholera' and tune in via the details below...
