Weekend NZ Live Gigs + Streaming Events Guide
With gigs looking to take off again in the near future and Aotearoa's live music scene already expanding by the day, now's the perfect time to shake off those post-lockdown agoraphobic blues and get back out amongst it. Tonight's event highlights include Under The Arcade Presents - TOOMS and REPAIRS at Auckland's The Wine Cellar (limited tickets available here), The Jac's album release show at Wellington's The Third Eye, and the grand return of Melted Ice Cream / Space Academy's Better Living TV livestream extravaganza – tonight from 7pm with a stellar lineup including Francisca Griffin, Psychic Maps, Hermione Johnson and Uncle Quentin. There's more great stuff on tonight as well, but as they're already sold out, mentioning them here will only promote chronic FOMO and who needs that? Not me, and not you either.
If you don't wanna stay home on a Saturday night, Wellingtonians can head along to Dr Reknaw at Newtown's favourite drinking hole MOON (grab your tickets here), while Cantabrians can enjoy the timeless sounds of local heroes The Eastern while supporting Cassels Blue Smoke's Save Our Venues fundraiser. If you do want to stay home on Saturday, you can put your feet up and have a swell time tuning in to a special livestream event raising funds for Dunedin venues The Crown & Inch Bar's Save Our Venues Boosted campaigns, featuring Lucy Hunter, Michael Morley, Francisca Griffin, Koizilla and even more from 3pm.
