Weekly Roundup: Friday 12th June

Weekly Roundup: Friday 12th June

Gigs are well and truly back, as proven by last night's re-opening rager at Tāmaki Makaurau's freshly repainted and very crammed Whammy Bar. We're raring to get amongst it post-lockdown and welcomed with open arms a tidal wave of local show announcements, to keep our world class live scene buzzing while international artists are currently barred from our shores. We kept our focus mainly on breaking events news this week, along with featuring local legend and snack lover Roy Irwin's excellent interview with US songwriting superstar Phoebe Bridgers – chatting about her upcoming new album Punisher, their shared love for 100 Gecs and her hatred of Eric Clapton (go listen to Irwin's superb new self-titled album here). Consider it your civic duty to support NZ's artists and venues by going out and having a great time at a gig this weekend!
