With her album KiCK i out digitally next week, Venezuelan electronic artist Arca teases the collection with one last future-pop single, 'Mequetrefe'. The track is crunchy and joyful, shifting through stripped back rhythms, melodic strings, and culminating in a buggy apocalyptic climax. 'Mequetrefe' is a word Arca heard growing up, but here she subverts its derogatory history and makes it her own; a heavy, infectious, club hit. KiCK i will be massive for Arca, no doubt seeing the artist's experimental sounds reach new ears with help from big name collaborators like Björk, Rosalía, Shygirl and SOPHIE.
