And$um Unveils Debut Album Ft. Dharmarat, Laura Lee Lovely + More

Annabel Kean / Friday 26th June, 2020 1:40PM

Ōtautahi hip-hop whizz And$um has unleashed his first ever album And$um, Vol. 1, with a sick line-up of Aotearoa collaborators. He's prolific too, having dropped the SOYBOYS EP already this year with Your Boy Tuha, featured on Hybrid Rose and Dharmarat singles, and the new offering takes his album count up to three in two years. And$um has experimented with a mix of beats, intonations and production styles on And$um, Vol. 1. '2016' is stripped back, dropping into moments of auto-tune over guitar, bass and high-hat with room to breathe. Then there's 'I Know' – poppy, sparkly and catchy with saxophone and keys. He's made the most of the talent in his home town too, with rap battle champ RyeChi, folk singer Candice Milner, and synth-pop songwriter Laura Lee Lovely all making appearances, alongside Te Ika-a-Māui buds Dharmarat, Jenchi and Hxrman. Take a hit of And$um, Vol. 1...

'And$um, Vol. 1' is out now digitally via Something Different.
