The Girls Rock! Pōneke online programme kicks off today and what better way to celebrate the awesome emerging talent involved than with Girls Rock Pōneke Showcase 2019, a new collection documenting last July's concluding performance extravaganza. There's eight groups announcing themselves to the world on the compilation and the audience atmosphere is infectiously supportive, in a way that bar crowds could certainly take pointers from. Aiming to "disrupt the current gender imbalance in our music industry through a series of school holiday programmes for young women, trans, non-binary and gender-non-conforming youth," Girls Rock! Pōneke 2020 will present daily livestreams alongside their programme of workshops and mentoring.
