Listen To The Debut EP From Pōneke Trio KITA
KITA are one of the most exciting new acts to emerge from Pōneke this year, and their debut EP Try To Find A Way lands today ahead of a Te Ika-a-Māui tour to share in the revelries. The trio of Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant, Ed Zuccollo (Trinity Roots, ZUKE) and Rick Cranson (Little Bushman) were all busy with other projects when they first linked up, but an opportunity to work with Grammy Award winning producer Tommaso Colliva (MUSE / Razorlight) arose, and KITA took hold. Their sound is at times pop, almost folk, like at the start of title track 'Try To Find A Way', but always climbs to epic electronic heights. Elements of the EP's reverberant vocals and keys are reminiscent of early 2000s pop, melded with neo-soul vibes, and hints of drum and bass without the drop. We got to know the band recently, finding out juicy info like the fact Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant used to perform in a travelling circus – read the full interview here. Get in on the ground floor, listen to the EP and find out where you can experience KITA live below...
