The Avalanches Drop Two New Songs Feat. Jamie XX, Neneh Cherry, Vashti Bunyan
Reputedly hard at work on their near-mythical third album, Australian sample gurus The Avalanches have revealed 'Wherever You Go / Reflecting Light', a two track EP featuring contributions from such titanic musical figures as Jamie xx, Neneh Cherry, psych-folk legend Vashti Bunyan, Sananda Maitreya (formerly known as Terence Trent D'Arby) and Sydney-based producer / vocalist CLYPSO. While Bunyan is represented via a sample from her timeless 1970 song 'Glow Worms' on 'Reflecting Light' (co-produced by Jamie xx), Cherry and Maitreya provide gorgeous in-studio vocal performances over The Avalanches' cosmic and soulful beat odyssey, which even features tinklings of piano from Mick Jones of The Clash and Big Audio Dynamite. Led by samples from NASA's The Voyager Golden Record message to the stars, the EP's scope is appropriately brain-bogglingly vast – dive into 'Wherever You Go / Reflecting Light' here...
'Wherever You Go / Reflecting Light' is out now via major streaming services.
