Aaron Tokona Tribute Buzz - Second Show Announced
Legendary songwriter and guitar hero Aaron Tokona sadly passed away on Saturday 20th June of a heart attack, prompting an outpouring of appreciation and remembrance from our music community. With tickets now sold out for Tāmaki Makaurau's Aaron Tokona Tribute Buzz event, a second show has been announced for Mount Maunganui's Totara Street on 23rd October - featuring an all-star lineup of Aotearoa artists playing Weta, AHoribuzz and Cairo Knife Fight tunes, in celebration of Tokona's spirit and to help support his whānau. Performing on the night will be Joel Shadbolt (L.A.B.), Francis Kora (Kora) Clint Harris and Andy Lynch (Opshop / The Feelers), Gareth Price and Tosh Graham (Semi Lemon Kola), Jason Peters (Pumpkinhead), Jason Faafoi (The Stereo Bus), Tuma Tokona and Hori Pirere (AhoriBuzz), Alex Ferrier and Sam Holdom (Skinny Hobos), and Jimi Kara (Fly My Pretties) and his band. An all-star lineup of Aotearoa artists will perform together this October in tribute to Aaron Tokona, songwriter and guitar hero of Weta, AHoriBuzz, Cairo Knife Fight, Bongmaster and much more, who sadly passed away on Saturday 20th June of a heart attack.
Aucklands show at Whammy sold out fast so don't miss out on this one.
