Going Global Music Summit 2020 Announced For September

Going Global Music Summit 2020 Announced For September

Annabel Kean / Thursday 6th August, 2020 10:52AM

Going Global is going local this year, drawing from the cornucopia of Aotearoa-based music industry folks in the know for their annual summit this September. In previous years the boutique conference has boasted speakers Marlon Williams, Ruban Nielson, and dozens of international festival organisers, promoters and label hotshots. Attendees will gather at Neil Finn's Roundhead Studios across the 11th and 12th of September, however the rowdy element of the weekend, the Going Global Presents showcase, has been postponed. A blessing in disguise, lowering the ticket prices and lowering the chances of attending a conference very hungover. Press Release:

Independent Music New Zealand (IMNZ) announces the annual Going Global Music Summit for 2020.

A two-day boutique conference held to inform and upskill our local music industry, taking place once again at the renowned Roundhead Studios in Auckland.

Friday 11th September / Saturday 12th
Roundhead Studios, Auckland, New Zealand

Local guest speakers to be announced

The two-day GOING GLOBAL MUSIC SUMMIT is a gateway for any local artist, manager, publicist, A&R, producer, music writer, record label and venue manager to connect with, question and hear ideas from some of the music industry's most relevant and forward-thinking superstars. This year IMNZ is bringing together New Zealand's most experienced music industry professionals and artists for a korero with you - and us.

Independent Music New Zealand (IMNZ) General Manager, Dylan Pellett says "This year, it's going to be locals only. We have plenty to talk about and knowledge to share with our local music community, so we think the time is right to strengthen our own connections with each other and learn from ourselves - with the same outward focus that Going Global has provided over the years. There are some changes, however - the biggest one being the postponement of the Going Global Presents showcase for this year. We are also lowering the conference ticket price to reflect the strange times we're in. Hope you'll join with us, as always!"
