Watch Kenny Sterling's Video For Debut Single 'Seismic Commotion'
The self-proclaimed crooner project of Heat Rockers Records founder Matt Hunter (aka Jerry Tompkins) is making a grand entrance as Kenny Sterling, with the lead track from his upcoming album Symphony Of Streetlights. First taste 'Seismic Commotion' is the Auckland-based artist's debut release under the new moniker, and with it Sterling has shared some insight into the album's process, including reflections on his privilege as a Pākeha musician, with "respect and awareness of the historical failures which scars this city and country". He promises a good dose of love songs woven through the existential dread too, as displayed in juxtaposing 'Seismic Commotion' lyrics "Seeing as we have so little time, I want to get lost in your eyes, Hold your hand and slow dance, Through the early hours of the morning", sitting atop smooth jazz percussion and keys. Be wooed by Kenny Sterling in the nightmarish Tak Soropa directed clip below...
Kenny Sterling's debut album 'Symphony Of Streetlights' is out on Thursday 17th September.
