Julia Holter Covers Fleetwood Mac's 'Gold Dust Woman'
Here in Aotearoa early last year for a much talked about pair of Tāmaki Makaurau performances, LA pop experimentalist Julia Holter has reemerged with a heavenly cover of Fleetwood Mac's 'Gold Dust Woman' (from 1977's Rumours). Recorded all the way back in 2012 following sessions for Ekstasis and finally out as a standalone release, Holter opened up about about making her stunning rendition of the Stevie Nicks classic available to a wider audience for the first time...
“I always wanted to make this cover available officially. I recorded it at home in 2012 for a Mojo special on Fleetwood Mac. The propulsive dark vibe of this song was appealing and I think the raw energy of my recording captures an exhilarated moment in time for me, in which I was about to start touring, playing my own music for the first time.”
'Gold Dust Woman' is out now via Domino Record Co.
