Since experiencing Phoebe Rings at The Beths' sold out Powerstation show in July, I've been keeping a close eye on the group's socials for single release clues. Today, the quartet finally gift us their debut single, the magical 'Cheshire'. Crystal Choi's hypnotising voice swoops and dives through Ben Locke's (Sea Views) creeping, twisting bass, creating a fantastical, aural Phoebe Rings wonderland. On percussion, A.C. Freazy's Alex Freer stacks hushed hi-hat and shakers beneath Choi's beaming synths, adding to their undeniable Stereolab vibes with a Tāmaki spin.
