"VALENTINA (stylised in all caps) is my gateway to something more personal. With my last project, I had this natural progression into something more real and it was reflecting in the music I was making for my now scrapped album for Hybrid Rose. It's a little unusual for me to think I should tell my stories through a character that was designed to make people dance and feel joyous when that's not what I was feeling or writing about. It was a tough choice but in the long run I am happy with my decision!

The world is in a very uncertain state right now, I just want more than anything to give back the love to people who need it or are going through something. I made this track in a pure state of heartbreak and it helped me relax.”
