Julia Deans Mini-Mini Solo Sojourn Announced
Fresh from wrapping up her much-anticipated South Island tour, Julia Deans is cracking her knuckles and leaping right back into the fray with a trifecta of very special spring solo headline events. Deans' newly announced Mini-Mini Solo Sojourn will take the Fur Patrol songwriter to Tāmaki Makaurau's Ponsonby Social Club, Pōneke's Meow and Nelson's The Boathouse —promising "to road-test new material for an upcoming album, alongside favourites from her critically acclaimed solo catalogue" and even deliver a deep dive into songs from the Fur Patrol archives too.
Celebrating of the 20th anniversary of their platinum debut album Pet, Fur Patrol currently have a PledgeMe campaign rolling to get their certified Kiwi classic re-pressed onto vinyl LP (more info here), and have been strongly hinting that's not the only project they've got cooking together. An artist who clearly loves to keep busy, Deans is also stepping into the lofty role of Music Director for the 2020 APRA Silver Scroll Awards, curating live performances for this year's prestigious songwriting award presentation in mid-October.

Press release:
One of many artists whose plans were cancelled due to Covid-19, she's excited to be heading out to road-test new material for an upcoming album, alongside favourites from her critically acclaimed solo catalogue. As it's the 20th anniversary of Fur Patrols platinum-selling debut album Pet looming (yes it has been that long!), she will also be diving into the Fur Patrol archives to play songs of youthful exuberance alongside her more grown-up recent work.
